I'm a Freelance Digital Compositor/Visual Effects Artist currently based in Sydney, Australia.
Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, I studied Visual Art at Manukau Institute of Technology where I graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2000, majoring in Painting. After a brief stint as an exhibiting painter in Auckland, I spent the next few years living in London, then Dublin, and generally seeing as much of the world as time and money would allow.
In 2004 I moved to Sydney, Australia, and the following year I decided to give 3D Animation a go - something which seemed to combine all my favourite things: photography, film-making, storytelling, and visual art.
In 2005 I attended the Computer Graphics College in Sydney, where I graduated with a Diploma of Screen(Computer Graphics and Animation) in 2006. Although I began my career as a 3D Artist, I quickly was drawn towards compositing, which seemed more art and less science than 3D, and tied in more closely with my interest in photography and movies, and since then, I've never looked back.
If I'm not in front of a computer in a dark room somewhere slapping a few nodes together, I'm usually out taking photographs, trying to surf more, playing my guitar, watching movies, or bowing to the every whim of my cat.
